The electric boat that takes you to discover Brantôme along the water welcomes you at the foot of the angled bridge, a very pretty 16th century bridge that linked the abbey and its gardens.
The first part allows you to discover Brantôme from the river. You can admire the abbey and its campanile, which we have already told you about Here. as well as pretty facades overlooking the river.
You then leave the town center of Brantôme to venture into the “wilder” part of the Dronne. 80% of the river is classified as an area of ecological interest. Quickly you forget the city to dive in the middle of nature, sheltered by the canopy. A real bubble of freshness during the hot summer days of Périgord Vert. As you walk, accompanied by the ducks, your guide will introduce you to the fauna and flora of the Dronne.
The trip lasts 50 minutes. On the return to Brantôme, you will enjoy a very beautiful view of the abbey as the boat returns to park at Pont Coudé.
The captain of the boat, where up to 50 people can come aboard, offers you his comments throughout the cruise, describing the wildlife you might encounter, as well as the History and stories of Brantome or other surprising hidden sites.
Cruises on the Dronne take place from April 1st to October 15th with a departure every hour from 10 to 12 h and from 14 to 18 h.
